Last year I undertook a successful family holiday to Rome. This year I wanted something similar. I was looking for a city blessed with historic sites and attractions—and an amusement park or two would be nice! After selecting a few possible candidates and discussing the options with the family, the decision was unanimous: Istanbul, the only city in the world that spans two different continents. Istanbul had also been high on my list of cities to visit. Istanbul ticked all the right boxes.
